We’ve spent most of the week, again, tied up in business and legal matters. That sucks, because we’re not getting new releases finished and into your hands. Without new releases, sales slip. On the other hand, it’s necessary business that needs to be addressed.
We’re also working on a number of very exciting new prospects that continue to percolate behind the scenes. Things that when you hear about them, your jaw will drop. They are still in the development stages, so we don’t want to talk about them yet. Give us a few weeks to see how everything unfolds, first.
New books are coming. Really they are. I’m raring to dive back into writing and game design. Telling stories is in my blood and after awhile, the ideas start to insist on being unleashed. I hear vampires howling in the night, cosmic heroes whose stories need to be told, demonic invasion and superheroes clashing, and much, much more. Which all adds up to me looking forward to a productive weekend writing.
Triax™ 2 is still going strong and co-author, Brandon Aten, is working away on his Rifts® Sovietski World Book. Actually, there are so many ideas and new possibilities flying around that we can barely keep up with them. You’ll see in the weeks to come.
A new Palladium intern? If all goes well, we hope to add a new intern, Matthew Clements, to Palladium’s ranks, at least on a temporary basis. We hope to finalize things this weekend. He seems like a good guy and a talented writer.
Reminder about the Rifts®/Colt® Heavy Metal® crossover release dates. The Rifts®/Colt® Heavy Metal® Magazine crossover comic appears in the September and November issues of Heavy Metal Magazine – on sale in July and September, respectively.
I haven’t heard from the guys lately, so I imagine they are busy trying to hit their deadline. I can hardly wait to see the finished art and story.
Online Sales. Sales started out weak but ended strong. A gorgeous Memorial Day holiday and nice summer days had something to do with it, no new product (I’m working on it!) had another.
Prince of Persia Movie. I took some time off last weekend to spend one evening with friends and a few hours in the afternoon another day to see the Prince of Persia movie. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I loved it! The action and adventure ranks right up there with Iron Man and I figured it would give me an idea of what Jerry Bruckheimer Films might do with a Rifts® movie. I was not disappointed. I don’t want to talk about the story (which was solid and more than I anticipated), so all I’ll say is that it was excellent. I recommend it. And you don’t have to know or care anything about the videogame it is inspired by, it holds up completely on its own.
My nervous Dad. I don’t blame Henry for being worried. Next Thursday is his next examination to make sure his bladder cancer has not returned. He’s feeling fine and was in reasonably good spirits when I visited with him on Wednesday, but he was clearly tense and worried. I teased him about it as we drove to breakfast in a Spring downpour. I’m praying for another positive report, especially with Father’s Day a week or so later.
Queen of Ghouls. Kathy has added some new zombies and scary signs with half bodies hanging from them to her current collection of life-sized Halloween props.
Palladium Online Auction – ENDS Sunday, June 6, and there are still plenty of what I thought were amazing items for sale. There are plenty of deals to be had on rare and unusual items. Read about them below and take a peek. They make great gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, graduation, and even Christmas – especially for that hard to buy for gamer. Tons of autographs. Most items pulled from my personal collection and the Palladium archives. Get ‘em while you can.
I have a weekend of writing planned ahead of me, but I’m very much looking forward to it. Check out the Palladium auction, enjoy your loved ones and have a nice weekend.
– Kevin Siembieda, Publisher
The current Palladium auction is jam-packed with hard to find, rare, unusual and autographed items; many one-of-a-kind items. Because it’s the Rifts® 20 Year Anniversary, there are many Rifts® items. Here’s a quick rundown.
It ENDS Sunday evening around 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, so time is running out!

That means it is one of the first to come out of production and has superior detail and quality. Considered a “master” miniature. The blister card is signed by Kevin Siembieda.
Kevin Siembieda’s Personal copy of Beyond the Supernatural™ RPG, 1st Printing, 1st Edition Rules (1988). If you are a fan of Triax and the New German Republic, you need this book. If not, and you like robots, weapons and technology, this book is still for you. It’s packed with a ton of stuff that can be used in ANY Rifts® campaign.
Heroes of the Megaverse® presents numerous NPC heroes, new details about the Cosmo-Knights and all kinds of fun with a magic artifact known as the Book of Heroes. This magic artifact is said to bestow incredible power upon those who use it. It can also guide and empower current day heroes and unleash forces that could have a profound impact on the Minion War. Only one copy is known to exist, and everyone wants to get their hands on it – good guys and bad (demons, Deevils, the Splugorth, the Dominators, the Kreeghor, etc.). According to legend, he who controls the Book of Heroes and wields the “Power of the 2000,” can rule the universe. Once protected by the Cosmo-Knights, the book has gone missing for millennia. No one knows its fate or the true power contained within its List of Heroes. No one except YOU – the new keepers of this legendary Rune book.
The Rifter® is your doorway to unlimited imagination and numerous Palladium role-playing worlds. It offers new heroes, powers, weapons, magic and adventure for your games. It presents new villains, monsters and dangers to battle, and new ideas to consider.
Demons and Deevils are trying to turn Earth into one of their playgrounds. It’s worse than you think. The plan is to bring about Armageddon to unleash a powerful force that could change the tide of the Minion War™. Only Earth’s greatest superheroes (that’s your characters) stand in their way. Can be played as a Minion War™ crossover bringing in heroes from across the Megaverse, or as a stand-alone adventure setting for Heroes Unlimited™.
The Thundercloud Galaxy™ is the perfect companion to Rifts® Dimensional Outbreak™ to expand one’s gaming Megaverse in the Three Galaxies. History, aliens, weapons, spacecraft, and adventure in a galaxy far, far away.
Kevin Siembieda is reorganizing, tweaking, expanding and updating one of the most popular Rifts® World Books ever published: Vampire Kingdoms™. This will include some new artwork and an expanded page count. The book will be updated and expanded in much the same way as Kevin did with Rifts® Sourcebook One a couple years ago. Best of all, it’s just the prelude to a Rifts® Vampire Sourcebook that will follow a month or two later.
Trouble is stirring in the Vampire Kingdoms as ambitious vampire lords, ladies and misanthropes seek to expand their power to dominate more mortal life forms.
Written by Kevin Siembieda and a handpicked selection of other writers, this sourcebook explores the vampires of Mexico and their kingdoms in ways you never imagined. Tons of new data, adventure ideas and revelations.
At last, the underwater realm of Lemuria. The people and history of Lemuria, new magic, sea herbs and healing, sea monsters, and more.
The Minion War spills across Rifts Earth, where demons and infernals hope to recruit allies and use the Rifts as gateways of destruction. Their influence shakes things up across the planet, especially at locations where demons and Deevils already have a strong presence. More details to follow, but for now, ‘nuff said.
Data about the chaos and madness of the early days of the Great Cataclysm, and the brave men and women who tried to stem the tide of destruction and save lives, the First Responders.
