We’re posting the Press Release a day early this week (Thursday), because I’m giving Wayne Smith Friday off. He worked the last three weekends straight to help get Dimensional Outbreak™ done, so he’s earned it.
Dimensional Outbreak™ was finished and sent to the printer on Tuesday. It is a great book. If you are looking for epic space opera, Outbreak is the book for you.
The story is hot! There are a zillion different angles you can take, and there are enough ideas that you could play this as a part of your campaign for a month or a year! I’m delighted with the whole book from A to Z, and think you will be too. There’s a little bit of something for everyone, magic, tech, demons and Deevils, Center and Prometheans, a powerful story, a slew of adventure ideas, toys and fun. There are more details in the actual description in this press release.
Julius Rosenstein’s comment after proofreading it was, “Wow, the book is more than I even imagined it would be. People are going to be surprised by it. Makes me want to run a Three Galaxies campaign.”
Editor Alex Marciniszyn said, “Kev, this book is worth the wait. The fans are really get their money’s worth. And the Demon Magic is so unique and scary. I loved it.”
Sales were up and down again this weekend, but so far no precipitous plunges. If tonight’s sales are decent we’ll have a good week, if they are strong we could have a very good week. They are already better than last week’s total, so looking good. We got a small reorder from our biggest distributor today, in addition to their regular monthly order placed at the beginning of this month, so that’s encouraging as well.
Other Business: I took yesterday (Wednesday) off from writing to visit my Dad and take care of some business matters. That included stopping at some local speciality printers to talk about new items to debut at the Palladium Open House and to be put up online. Obviously, one has to be “20 Years of Rifts.” A T-shirt of some kind, maybe? But what else?
Non-Book Product Ideas. A number of people have been lobbying for us to do a hoodie or two (among other things). I’ve always hesitated, because they are expensive to make and we’d have to sell them in the $25-$30 range, but I’m looking into it. There is a poll on the All Things Palladium board, please give us your input. Also let us know what else you might want to see other than books. Palladium Books®, Rifts®, Heroes Unlimited™, NEMA™ or Dead Reign™ logos as embroidered, color patches you could sew onto your jacket or shirt? I think we’re looking at an $8-12 cost for such an item. New prints or posters? Character sheets? Anything else?
I also spoke to some freelancers about work on upcoming books. Mark Evans has agreed to do the cover for Armageddon Unlimited, and artwork for the two Rifts® Vampire books is already coming in.
I started working on Heroes of the Megaverse® today. I plan to work part of the weekend, though I think I’m taking one of the days off to recharge my creative batteries. Rifts® Triax™ Two, Heroes of the Megaverse®, Robotech® UEEF Marines™, the two Rifts® Vampire books, The Rifter® #50 – are all at some level of development and coming soon.
UPDATE: Henry Siembieda. Dad was in great spirits yesterday. Since getting the good news that his cancer appears to be gone, Dad was all smiles, jokes and good humor when I took him to breakfast Wednesday morning. We had a nice visit. I passed along to him the well wishes and congratulations I received from the many friends, freelancers and fans, and he was very grateful and surprised. “Really? How nice. I can’t believe so many people care.” He was very touched. In fact, much to my surprise, he’s actually thinking about coming to the Palladium Open House for a few hours on one of the days so he can tell people thank you personally. No wonder I love my Dad so much, he’s a great guy.
UPDATE: 2010 Palladium Open House. Pre-registrations have picked up a bit. Keep ‘em coming. Whether you come for the weekend or one day, come on down. We’re going to make the 2010 Open House a joyous celebration and blow out party.

Dimensional Outbreak™ is done and at the printer. We have not had a ship date confirmed, but it should be somewhere between March 5-10.
If you are looking for exciting space opera, this book is for you. It is full of new weapons, new spacecraft, new demons and aliens, new magic, and a wealth of information about Phase World, the Prometheans, the Three Galaxies, the Minion War, deception and betrayal. There are enough adventure ideas, turmoil and information to run a campaign in the Three Galaxies for years! The eruption of the Minion War in the Three Galaxies is more mind boggling than anyone has imagined. Virtually every civilization gets caught up in the demons’ scheme and the Deevils’ revenge in one way or another. Can’t say more without giving away too many plot elements, but you will be surprised.
Dimensional Outbreak™ is an exciting and surprise filled book in the Minion War™ series as war spills into Phase World®, the city of Center and the Three Galaxies™. The epic scale of the Minion War just got bigger and even the United Worlds of Warlock, the Splugorth and Naruni Enterprises are reeling from it. The story hooks are endless.
The Book of Heroes is said to be one of the greatest magic artifacts in the Megaverse. Only one copy is known to exist, and everyone wants to get their hands on it – Demons, Deevils, the Splugorth, the Dominators, the Kreeghor, the United Worlds of Warlock and everyone in between. For it is said that he who wields the “Power of the 2000” can rule the universe.
Once protected by the Cosmo-Knights, the book has gone missing. No one knows its fate or the true power contained within its List of Heroes. No one except YOU – the new keepers of this legendary Rune book.

If we max out, we may have to turn people away, so pre-register as soon as possible to secure your place at the party.
For more information and to pre-register, click here.
POH Game Masters and games needed. Please let us know if you are running, how many games you are running, etc. – the sooner the better, so we can put together and post online a schedule of events by the end of February. Thanks.

An in-depth look at the Expeditionary Force Marines, their history, strategies and tactics, M.O.S. skill packages, operations and missions.
Why wait? A special printing of the original Rifts® World Book One: Vampire Kingdoms™ is available exclusively from Palladium Books.
Kevin Siembieda is reorganizing, tweaking, expanding and updating one of the most popular Rifts® World Books ever published: Vampire Kingdoms™. This will include some new artwork and an expanded page count. The book will be updated and expanded in much the same way as Kevin did with Rifts® Sourcebook One a couple years ago. Best of all, it’s just the prelude to a Rifts® Vampire Sourcebook that will follow a month or two later.
Palladium intends to support all of its game lines and that includes the setting of the Three Galaxies. The Thundercloud Galaxy™ is just the second of several books crafted by the talented Braden Campbell to expand your gaming Megaverse in the Three Galaxies. History, aliens, weapons, spacecraft, and adventure in a galaxy far, far away.
Trouble is stirring in the Vampire Kingdoms as ambitious vampire lords, ladies and misanthropes seek to expand their power to dominate more mortal life forms.
Written by Kevin Siembieda and a handpicked selection of other writers, this sourcebook explores the vampires of Mexico and their kingdoms in ways you never imagined. Tons of new data, adventure ideas and revelations.
At last, the underwater realm of Lemuria. The people and history of Lemuria, new magic, sea herbs and healing, monsters, the New Navy, and much, much more.
Demons and Deevils are trying to turn Earth into one of their playgrounds. It’s worse than you think. The plan is to bring about Armageddon to unleash a powerful force that could change the tide of the Minion War™. Only Earth’s greatest superheroes (that’s your characters) stand in their way. Can be played as a Minion War™ crossover bringing in heroes from across the Megaverse, or as a stand-alone adventure setting for Heroes Unlimited™.
The Minion War spills across Rifts Earth, where demons and infernals hope to recruit allies and use the Rifts as gateways of destruction. Their influence shakes things up across the planet, especially at locations where demons and Deevils already have a strong presence. More details to follow, but for now, ‘nuff said.
The Robotech® core sourcebook you’ve been waiting for . . . only it’s going to be more than you imagine.
Data about the chaos and madness of the early days of the Great Apocalypse, and the brave men and women who tried to stem the tide of destruction and save lives, the First Responders.
The following are in the pipeline, but are not yet scheduled. Most are likely to be released after those previously described, but a couple might get slotted into release sooner.

More Rifts® Chaos Earth™ sourcebooks
More Rifts® sourcebooks

Check ‘em out.
Kathy Simmons continues to add to her listings of life-sized Halloween props at the Queen of Ghouls™ Ebay store. She is now offering Halloween signs, and we understand a Leprechaun, more witches and other “ghouls” will be added every week or two.
Kathy makes and sells one of a kind, life-sized Halloween props. You know, vampires, werewolves, witches, wizards, zombies and monsters for display on your front lawn. If you think the photos online look good, you should see them in person. A typical “ghoul,” as she calls her creations, costs $89-$150. You can see some of her work (available off-season at lower prices) at her Queen of Ghouls™ Ebay store – queenofghouls.com.
